My research project focuses on remote sensing of the cryosphere. Currently, I'm working on remote sensing of snow depths from the satellites ICESat-2 and Sentinel-1. Additionally, I'm working on remote sensing of supraglacial lakes on the Greenland Ice Sheet.
The title of my PhD project is 'Upscaling remote sensing of SMB parameters and related phenomena in arctic environments'
The purpose of the project is to utilize the capabilities of remotely sensed satellite data to measure and analyse changes in the cryosphere. In recent years the availability and quality of satellite data for environmental monitoring has increased significantly. At the same time, cloud computing platforms like Google Earth Engine has emerged, making it possible to do large scale analysis of many remotely sensed satellite datasets. My primary area of interest is Greenland.
